A feast for the eyes, Mitch Philips' "Son of Makuta" is truly a sight to behold. Appearing even more deadly and terrifying than the Rahkshi from Bionicle: Mask of Light, this creature appears equipped with deadly edges at every joint. I can almost hear the hiss pouring from the creature's gaping maw and flicking tongue. The color and shape of the spine are also absolutely delicious. Matoran: watch out. Be sure to check out Philips' work on Flickr for more incredible builds!

Nannan Zhang, one of the kings of Black Fantasy, presents us with creatures that boggle the mind and terrify the spirit. He is incredibly creative with his builds, often sharing stories to go with each build. I highly encourage you to explore his Flickr account, as he is a true master of the brick. In any case, enjoy this small fraction of Black Fantasy creatures born of Nannan's mind. Be sure not to miss the stunning masterpiece of a build at the bottom of this post!

Eero Okkonen is clearly an expert at building figures and characters, something you'll notice immediately if you visit his blog. Exploring his work introduced me to Klaanon, which is apparently a massive multi-author fan-fiction storyline based in the Bionicle universe. I was very happy to learn of its existence, as I'm sure anyone growing up captivated by the Bionicle line would be. Needless to say, if Eero's Purifier was released in the early 2000's, I would certainly have bought one.
